Top Ten Tuesday: Books set outside of the US

This one is almost too easy for me being UK based. I read a lot of UKYA, so whereas I will be including some of my UKYA faves on this list, I’ll try and feature some quirkier settings too. Let’s go travelling!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Missed in 2015!

Top Ten Tuesday! As usual, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

I fully intend to read these books this year. I’m making a real effort to do so because I actually own some of them and my TBR isn’t getting any smaller! But others I MEANT to buy… but just didn’t. Oops. Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Missed in 2015!”

Top Ten Tuesday – Most Anticipated for Early 2016

Released in the first half of 2016:

collage 2016 early

I think 2016 is going to be a GREAT year for fantasy, and even an better one for those of us that like darker, twistier stories.

I’m really looking forward to new books from Megan Miranda and Veronica Rossi in particular.

What books are you most looking forward to in 2016?

The Best YA of 2015

I know I did a recent Top Ten Tuesday with a similar schtick. But I saw this in the Huffington Post and I thought it was an interesting way to look at the ‘best of’. Rather than categorising it by simply ‘my favourites’, it’s by genre/category.

So I had a look over the 2015 books I read and I give you a different list, from a different angle with (mostly) different books. Hurrah! Continue reading “The Best YA of 2015”

The top ten books I wouldn’t mind santa leaving under the tree.

Come on, now. I’ve been a good girl this year! Mostly.

I pulled these off my Goodreads wish-list, some at random, others more calculated.

Top Ten Tuesday – Best Books of 2015

This wasn’t easy- trying to whittle it down to just ten? I put a constraint on it; they all have to be 2015 releases, or gawd I would have been here through New Year trying to decide.

So here goes, my top ten! In no particular order… (quotes taken from my reviews of the titles, click the links to read them in full)

Top Ten Tuesday – Debut Authors Who Won Me Over

This week it’s debut authors who have me looking forward to their second book. And this means that their writing must have won me over somewhere along the way.

As usual, TTT is brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish.

I’m not sure I can make it to the whole ten, but let’s go! Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday – Debut Authors Who Won Me Over”

’10 things…’ lists inspired by Non Pratt’s ‘Remix’

The festival season has wound down. This always makes me sad because Autumn is here and that means we have to wait through what seems like an eternity of grey skies and rain and cold until it starts up again in June.

Earlier this week I posted my review of Remix by Non Pratt and revisiting that book sent me on a trip down memory lane. So many good things, and few bad too, have happened to me at festivals. And I started off by thinking about all the weird things you hear people shouting across the campsites. It’s like a meme in RL. And then I started thinking about other ’10 things…’ lists.
