I haven’t completed this meme before because I usually end up talking about the books I’m excited about either in different posts, or on social media. But sometimes I stumble across something special.
Wow. Double wow.
I knew Mead had a new book coming but I think the cover art is relatively new? I don’t remember it being there the last time I stalked the Goodreads page…
“For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom.
When villagers begin to lose their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.
But soon Fei is awoken in the night by a searing noise, and sound becomes her weapon.
Richelle Mead takes readers on a triumphant journey from the peak of Fei’s jagged mountain village to the valley of Beiugo, where a startling truth and an unlikely romance will change her life forever…”
I will literally read ANYTHING that woman writes. But there is something really excited about this title. For one, it’s a standalone, and she hasn’t released a standalone before. And then add that it’s Chinese folklore? Man. I’m digging that like a miner and THANK GOSH the publisher decided to go for a cover that reflects that.
The bad news? The release date:
17th November 2015
I’m counting down the days…
